Web Server or webcal/wiki/webmail/etc?

Howdy all, I have been trying to get Lion Server to work the way "I" would expect it to for a week but haven't had much luck. It boils down to either being able to serve my webpages OR being able to login to wiki or webcal or webmail or any of the other services. I can't get them all to run together.

So, if I turn on Web Server, I can go to my web page and everything within the Default Folder works fine. BUT I cannot login to wiki/webcal or webmail. I get: <service name> is turned off.

You can turn it on by using the Server app on the server.

But, if I turn off the Web Server and go to my webpage, it takes me to the Lion Server wiki page even though I didn't type-in /wiki. If I type-in www.website.com/wiki it takes me to the same wiki page. I can also login to my webmail, change password, webcal, etc.

So it seems that I can either have my services or my web pages but not both.

I would have expected that I could go to my web pages www.website.com and then, if I wanted to check my webmail, I could just add www.website.com/webmail to the page or if I wanted to go to the wiki, I could do it from my webpages by adding wiki to the end (of course www.website.com/wiki)

Is there some reason I can't have my pages served and have my services working at the same time? I would expect that I would work that way. Do I need to setup a Vitual Host for my own website?

Thanks for your help.

As far as I know you have to setup a virtualhost for your website.

You could probably setup a www.website.com as your virtualhost and maybe wiki.website.com as the main system, it's just a naming preference anyway.

I'm sure you can get what you want by:

- working around apache .conf files or

- configuring a webapp with a plist placed inside /etc/apache2/webapps

and configuring a mod_rewrite or a mod_proxy. Just make sure if the hassle is worth the result.
