Why is my iPhone 4 running so slow after updating to iOS 5.0?

Is anyone else experiencing this? When switching apps it takes 5 seconds or so for the screen elements to become active and usable. Before iOS 5, my iPhone 4 was flawless and ran absolutely perfectly. Now it's like my old iPhone 3G after upgrding to iOS 4 all over again. 😕
