iphone 4s easy vibrate/silent switch?

My piece of junk old Samsung regular phone allowed me to use the volume buttons to change the volume of the ringer like all phones do. The nice part of it was that when I went to the lowest volumes, it would switch to "vibrate only" then to "alerts only" and finally to "silence all." Someone at Apple should seriously consider this easy switch so I don't have to go into settings to turn on and off vibrate for silent mode. I understand it's an easy 3 step "button" push to do it myself, but if in a meeting it was always easy to reach into my pocket and click the side volume buttons all the way down and know that my phone was silenced.

If I'm an idiot and the phone already does this, please inform me how. I know all about the "silence" switch above the volume keys, but in settings the phone has to be set to silence for it to actually silence the phone, whereas if it's on vibrate, then the phone will still vibrate when on "silence." Thanks!
