iTunes crashes after updating iPhone software

After updating iTunes to the latest version and backing up my iPhone 4 and updating it to the 5.0.1 software(first update in a while), iTunes crashed about 2/3 of the way through reinstalling the apps onto my phone. I've tried rebooting everything multiple times, as well as updating apps both in iTunes and on the iPhone, but iTunes still crashes every time I plug the phone in.
