5.0.1 bad service?

Hello, I have a iPhone 4S white and there's been some problems. I haven't had any service over the past five days. I don't know if it's a hardware, software, or the new IOS 5.0.1. Sometimes it has three bars, sometimes it has one. even if I have that three I still cannot text or call anybody. It is a reoccurring problem that i hope will soon be fixed, please help.
