We really need a lot more information but, if it's really been hacked, all bets are off.
it happened after it was turned off for three days because the charger broke and its the same for paid and free apps.
Exactly what happens when you attempt to obtain an app? Details, please.
But what exactly happens when you attempt a download? What messages are displayed. Signs of you're account being hacked would be if it says "Incorrect Password" when you know that it is correct, or if there are purchased on your bill from iTunes Store that you did not make.
I touch the free button and it does not respond in any way and it also wont let me update apps either
This sounds more like a software issue. If you think it is an Apple ID problem, go to Settings > Store > Account > Sign Out. Then sign back in and make sure it still likes your password.
If not, then try resetting the phone (no data will be lost): Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears.
I tryed that and it still dont work could it be my software being out of date
Did you do the reset?
need some help!! my iPod won't let me download any apps- started to think that it was a problem with my iTunes account so I created a new one it accepts passwords for both accounts! Have done everything you've said- when I go into the app store it's all working I can go into the app but cannot select the free button it's like it's not there. Really need some advice, have seen people have got the same problem wondering if it's a problem with apple. If so what can I do? Look forward for your reply many thanks, Daisy
i tryed to reset but it only came up with power of even though i pressed both at the same time
If you look around on this forum, you will see that many others are having the same problem since 12/16 or 12/17. My original iPhone running iOS 3.1.3 is one. In addition to the problem with the "Free" and "$x.xx" buttons not working, there are other more minor issues, such as the images of apps under the description no longer allow the user to scroll to the right, and the "Tell a friend" button near the bottom doesn't work, either.
It has been suggested under other threads that Apple is discontinuing support of these older devices, but I haven't seen anything official yet. I have been e-mailing Apple (through their "Express Lane"), but they haven't been very helpful yet. :-(
Looks like Apple has fixed the problem. I just sucessfully downloaded a free app on my original iPhone running iOS 3.1.3.
