App Store Failure

Hello all. The other day I noticed that one of my (iPhone 3g) apps, Words With Friends Free, crashes on startup. I thought that deleting and re-downloading it would do the trick. When I went back to the app store, I found that none of the buy buttons are responsive. Pressing "free" doesn't initialize a download promt. This applies to all apps in the store; I've tried. I'm unsure if my deletion of Words With Friends Free has anything to do with this though.

I've tried restarting the phone, both normally and by holding the off and home buttons simultaneously. Neither method did a thing.

MyiPhone is too old for the new OS so updating is not a possibility.
