Let me see if i can clarify your question: Are you attempting to update an app, and when it prompts you for a password it shows the wrong user name?
If that's the case, you don't just change the username, you have to enter the password that belongs to the displayed user name because the app you are downloading belongs to that specific username (apple ID).
If the username displayed isn't yours, then ask the owner for their password.
Im the owner just don't know the password I have a new user name and need to update... It won't let me only if i remove the old scream name

The app you are updating belongs to your old username. Therefore, the only way to update that app is to either enter the password for the old account, or delete and redownload the app with your new account.

The app belongs to a different user who has changed his id and does not want to share the password due to problems he had with it (was hacked into)
