Dec 17, 2011 5:51 PM in response to boatmangcby Rysz,Deleting tracks that are embedded in the song files is easy. Select a group of files, right-click on them, select Get Info from the contextual menu. On the window that appears, there will be an empty artwork square. Select the checkbox next to it, then click OK.
Newer versions of iTunes also store album artwork outside the individual tracks, in a separate folder. I don't know how to safely remove those.

Dec 17, 2011 6:08 PM in response to Ryszby boatmangc,I am talking about something like 750 CDs worth of artwork, I just tried your suggestion by artist and it wouldn't work, at least not by "select all" then "get info".
Thanks for the help

Dec 17, 2011 7:49 PM in response to boatmangcby Rysz,It doesn't matter. Just select any random group. You could in fact select all your tracks and check the box for all of them. The only reason I'm suggesting to do it in groups (hundreds or low thousands) is that otherwise iTunes might hung if it runs out of memory.
