other

I know I'm not the only person who has a lot of space on their iphone taken up by "other". What is other? Everytime I try to restore the phone it reduces the other storage to .80 GB, but 10 minutes later it is 1.4-1.6, sometimes over 2 GB... How is this possible? HELP!

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

Other that large is corrupt data. If you've tried restoring from backup to fix the issue, and it has not worked, you will have to restore as a new device to fix things. Something in your iPhone backup is corrupt, and continuing to restore from backup will merely continue to restore the problem.
