Help! Macbook Pro - Not Charging - Battery almost flat

My battery is almost flat. I've tried resetting the SMC. Plug in the MagSafe adaptor and it turs green for a while then dims and stays dim green.

It looks like your battery has failed. Take the Macbook and charger in to your nearest Apple store and have them test them. You can't replace the battery yourself due to the chemicals in it so you are better off having it diagnosed by Apple.

I had intermittent problems with my 85W adapter and they replaced it on the spot.

At 35 cycles the battery should not have failed so you are probably entitled to a warranty replacement.

Yes, but the battery controller could be confused. The system decides whether to charge the battery, a short in the battery system could load down the adapter causing the dim green LED, or the Mag-safe connector could be failing, as it did in my case. You must also quit and restart System Information in order to get it to display updated information. There doesn't seem to be a refresh capability.

Either way you'll need to present the Macbook and the adapter to Apple for them to properly diagnose the fault. Unless you want to go there empty handed and buy a new adapter only to find out it doesn't fix it.

Apple has to replace the battery, it's not user replaceable, therefore it seems logical to let them diagnose the fault and fix it in one visit. Make a Genuis Bar appointment and you will be taken care of, I am sure.
