30% of songs in Status "Waiting" iTunes Match problem

Hi,

Really curious how i can solve the Waiting status for my songs.

I got 16000 songs in total gathered over the years. 3500 songs remain in status waiting and stay in waiting...

I've tried converting some of them to AAC 128kbps

I've disabled my Firewall

I've converted to AIFF

I've triend deleting the file that hung itunes match for uploading

BUT none of it works...

Does anybody has a good idea what to do?

I just want to get rid of the waiting status..

Many thanks,

regards,

I would guess that your "Waiting" files are unmatched tracks and are waiting to be uploaded. I'm in Australia and I have about 3,000 tracks unmatched and that need to be uploaded. It's a very slow process because my ISP, like many Australian ISPs, throttles my upload speeds severely.

Once you've reached Step 3, you can stop and start the upload process quite comfortably. In fact, I've found that it's good to restart every now and then especially if I'm using the internet heavily.

Check out this article so you can monitor what's happening with Smart Playlists:

Be aware tho' that Smart Playlists using iCloud status criteria don't "Live Update" like they should. You have to right click the Playlist and select the Edit option and just click the Okay button in the dialog... then it will update. Very silly I know.

Well, I don't know if it is the same problem for the thread starter, but for me the "itunes Match" process was completed 4 days ago, but I still have around 150 songs in status "Waiting". I tried "Update iTunes Match" from iTunes Store menu several times and did wait until finished, but it didn't help.

Seems like there are more people with this problem:

I think the only way is to wait until Apple is fixing this problem ...

Yes, I tried to restart iTunes and I also do a shutdown each evening, so I also had some restarts in between. The problem remains.

I also tried to deactivate iTunes Match and to activate it again. But it seems like this will not start the "match" from the beginning, iTunes still knows about the status of the songs, as a second activation is very fast compared to the first one.

Same here - I've restarted my MBP, restarted itunes several times. No change in behavior from the software.

Based on kayeu comment i left my MBP in itunes Match open all night and day... instead of having 2 or 3 songs uploaded i had about 30 songs uploaded of my 3320.

I have also noticed that itunes match sometimes closes and restarts the process...

I don't mind having this restart, BUT my total of songs that needs to upload doesn't change!

So i think something else is wrong here.

Anyway, thanks already for the reaction guys...

Bump. As I'm still waiting for quite a few songs to be 'Matched'. I also don't get how some of my songs have been uploaded, Apple has them on iTunes. When I press Store -> Update iTunes Match some of the songs turn their status to 'Errors' that have no explanation and others stay stuck on 'Waiting'.

The whole of Ed Sheeran's album ➕ has not copied over, and he's featured in Apple's 'Best Of 2011' section.

I hope there is a fix, solution soon as this is not what I expexted.

I have over 23,000 currently in the cloud. I started around when the official launch started (11/14/11)in the U.S. and it took me till tuesday morning (12/20/11) running none stop to get everything I had in the cloud. I admit a lot of my tracks where stories and long tracks, but there is no way I expected it to take this long. I hope they don't delete libraries or anything. All of my tracks did change from waiting to uploaded. I don't know why some tracks match and others upload. I don't think it really matters since they all count against your 25,000 unless you purchased them from iTunes (which I think is stupid). I know it would make it easier if they matched than having to upload them, but as long as they get up there I'm fine with that. I know a lot of people are having trouble, but I think a lot has to do with people expecting this to work really fast and we get impatient. After I figured out it was going to take a while, I picked my favorites that I knew I wanted access to quick and then deleted the rest out and let match do its thing and then started putting stuff back in. I know its not the easiest way, but it worked. I'm now trying to max mine out to see what happens.

Thats what I had to do. It literally ran none stop. I would check it in the morning to make sure it didn't stop in the night and then check when I got home from work to make sure it hadn't stopped. Sometimes I would make it stop and go through the steps again to see if it helped, but usually it just started from wherever it had stopped and just kept plugging along. There is nothing fast about this. NOTHING. After five weeks of burning of my broadband, my provider is probably ready to scream at apple. I'm finally done with the most important stuff and now i'm adding back the stuff I very seldom listen to just to see what happens when I max it out.

I think that's not the problem meant here. My matching process lasts three days - but finally I got a message it's finished. But there are STILL some tracks in my library with iCloud status "Waiting" - round about 300 out of 23000. There is no way to force iTunes to upload these songs. Plus, there is absolutely no logic behind this selection, e.g. there is one track of one paticular album which is not matched, nor uploaded, nor anything - but the rest of the album is just fine (and i'm talking about regular music stuff - nothing superunknown).

there where times that I had to delete the album out of itunes and the cloud and add it back. Then update match and match would then upload or match them. Have you tried deleting the tracks from itunes and the cloud and adding them back in? I had a few that had nothing beside them and I couldn't get them to do anything and I had to basically delete them out, make sure their out of the cloud too, and then put them back in and update match. I try everything before I give up. Sometimes creating another copy in itunes by creating acc version helped also. after you create the new version delete the old and see if that helps.
