Where can I get the necessary Lion Compatible software for an Epson Perfection v500?

I bought an Epson Perfection V500 photo scanner a couple of months ago but never got around to opening the box until today. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago I upgraded my Mac OS to Lion and the installation discs that come with the scanner are not compatible with Lion. I did go to the Epson website and downloaded the Lion compatible drivers for the scanner but when I try to perform a scan, it looks like Mac's "Image Capture" is being used as the interface. The install CD (that as noted above won't work in Lion) contains all kinds of software including Epson's "Epson Scan with Easy Photo Fix" and other possibly useful applications but the Epson website provides no information as to how I'm supposed to get those applications. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

For my Epson scanner I use VueScan.

Had the same problem

I have a V500 and a V600

I finally called Epson, got good help.

They had me download this driver:

epson13659.dmg

Log on to epson.com, drivers etc and do a search - you should be able to find it

I had the same experience ....

After calling Epson they put me on to this driver.

Go to Epson.com and do a search from the scanner driver area (Top Right hand corner)

Type epson13659.dmg to the search Box. Download and install this driver and you will

be back to normal.

This works on my Epson V500 & V600 Scanners

Here's the information about the epson13659.dmg driver from that page:

Scanner Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v3.74A

Intel-based Macs with OS X (v10.4.4 - v10.6.x), Mac OS X (v10.3.9 - v10.5.x)

This is a pretty old driver -- February, 2010. It says that it supports only up to Mac v10.5. Are you sure this driver works with Lion?

Has anyone else had luck getting the Epson Perfection V600 to work with Lion?
