Delete if from your iPhone buy pressing on the icon and holding it down. When they jiggle tap the X in the top left corner of that app. Then delete it from your computer if it was ever transferred there.

Purchase history does not take up space on your iPhone. If the apps are removed via the method deggie suggested, this is the most you can do to free up undeeded space.

Purchase history cannot be deleted but you can hide it as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919?viewlocale=en_US

Whenever you sync the phone to iTunes, the history gets saved. If you have set sync prefs to store the backup locally, the app will get copied and stored in the computer too, and will appear in the Apps section under Library (iTunes sidebar).

To delete that local iTunes copy, click its icon to select then press the delete key or right-click and select Delete.

Hi all, very new ipad user here.  We downloaded ios7 yesterday to the ipad.  I need to delete a printer app that no longer works with ios7.  However your instructions to press until wiggle, then X pops up, does not seem to work.  The app wiggles but no X.  Advice appreciated!

If you sync on iTunes, can delete in the device's Apps tab. If not and the wiggly does not work, go to Settings / General / Usage  and in the Storage section locate the offending app. May need to tap on Show all Apps to do so. Then tap on the app's name to see its stats and the Delete App button.

BTW, apps bundled with the OS by Apple are NOT deletable. But they're supposed to be kept up to date automatically with the rest of the system.

I have been trying to delete some apps as my storage is full and my iPad is running really slow. Holding them until they wiggle does not work and neither does looking them up in my storage usage section. Anymore ideas?
