Just bought the iPhone 4S for Verizon today. When I plugged it into my Mac to connect it to iTunes and transfer my music onto it, nothing happened. It wasn't recognized in iTunes. iPhoto opened up just fine but sadly I didn't care about that. My iTunes version is 9 and when I tried to update it, it said nothing new was available. I don't know what to do. Can anyone help me? Thanks.

You need to update to at least Leopard, & then iTunes to 10.5 or later, or you won't be able to sync your phone with your computer.

Weird, I thought I was running Leopard this whole time. I should be able to just download that for free, right?
Nope. There is no "download" for either Leopard or Snow Leopard. In fact, Apple no longer sells Leopard. You can try calling AppleCare or you'll have to look on eBay...you need a retail copy. If your computer meets the specs, you can go straight to SL, that's only $29 for the upgrade disk, and that will install a full copy of SL. Available at any Apple store.
Thanks, I'm fairly certain that I can upgrade to it, I was just hoping to save a little money. And I wanted to have everything installed by Wednesday and I don't think that can happen. Thanks for helping me out.
