iTunes scrolling now had annoying lag with Trackpad

I have a new scrolling issue with iTunes and the trackpad.

In either List or Album View, there is a noticeable lag when using two-finger gesture to scroll up and down the list. If I quickly swipe continuously swipe up and down, there is then a delay in the scrolling action on screen, resulitng in watching a list scroll up and down as it tries to keep up with the inputs.

Furthermore, the playback controls are inactive during this lag time. I have sometimes had to wait about 5 seconds until i get control of the program.

This is a new issue. I have noticed it since the latest update (10.5.2) & have started with iTunes match (which is still uploading content).

All other software (Safari, Chrome, Word, iPhoto) all have good inertial scrolling actions.

I also have this issue, here's an interesting experiment for you.

Open up Terminal (or TextEdit, anything small), move it out of the way of iTunes but keep it in focus, now without bringing iTunes to the front repeat the scroll test. I get no scroll lag in iTunes when something else has focus.

I have this problem too. Very laggy scrolling except when not in focus like Marc stated.

Hopefully Apple fixes this soon in the next iTunes update. Makes using iTunes very difficult.

Interesting, Same issue and with anything over the top of itunes, Safari, pages, whatever.. it scrolls properly. but man it's annoying when you've got itunes open full screen trying to get around it, expecially now with match on and all this extra music in the list too!

The problem apparently comes from the iTunes Match "Download" column (not the "status" one).

Disabling it solved the problem on my mac (right-click on any column at the top and uncheck it).

The scroll lag does seem to be related to iTunes Match. By hiding the iTunes Match columns, there is no (or minimal) delay.

I really wished that iTunes is broken down into Media playing and Media organisation. Too many times I am having to wait for iTunes to do what it is doing (syncing iphone/waiting for genius results/updating library/Delivering iTunes Match results etc etc etc) before I can competantly control the playback of music and movies.

Yup I'm having same lag. Loicgardiol's tip works fine but it would be nice to see this fixed soon since that column can be useful when importing songs.
