Safari autofill not working

I have followed some steps to try and get autofill working to no avail.

Settings -> Safari -> Autofill -> Use Contact Info -> On

Settings -> Safari -> Autofill -> My Info -> set to me!

Settings -> Safari -> Autofill -> Names & Password -> On

Settings -> Safari -> Private Browsing -> Off

Settings -> Safari -> Accept Cookies -> From visited

Settings -> Safari -> Clear Cookies and Data

Yet still my passwords are not remembered for any site, nor am I asked at any point if I want to remember any passwords.

This used to work pre iOS 5 but not any longer. The main problem for me is for the wifi password (it's an unsecured wifi at work where you need to login via a web page). Any other site I need to supply login details for though are not remembered either.

I have searched these forums among other places without any luck. Suggestions please.

I have the exact same problem and it started the day I upgraded to iOS 5, and the problem is with my login page at work to access Wi-Fi, so it isn't an isolated problem with your phone. I've tried all options in the settings menu, including resetting and deleting all cookies and data. No luck. I think it's software problem and not a settings issue.

Nope - seems when I disable "auto-login" it simply doesn't log me into the wifi - it's still connected, but I don't have any access.

I have the same issue with 2 seperate iPhones 4 running iOS 5.0.1. I have found no solution posted anywhere and it apears Apple is pretending this obvious software bug does not exist. This looks like poor quality control to me. If anyone has help on this I would love to hear it.

It seems to have nothing to do with the web sites, but a flaw in iOS 5.0.1. Though I have checked all the settings and re-installed the software several times, Safari auto fill simply does not work on any site, nor for logging in to Wi-Fi when a user name and password are needed.

I have this problem too. I can't seem to find any answer. Problem is only on ipad2. iPhone and iMac r fine.

I got mine fixed!! Try turning off Private Browsing. (Settings>Safari>Private Browsing).

It's in he Privacy section.

As soon as I turned it off, my Safari started asking me to save passwords!

Unfortunately that doesn't solve it - I'm not in private brosing mode. This is primarily ocurring when trying to enter the password for the wifi access at the Regus office I work in. But still all website are the same - it's just the wifi access which bugs the **** out of me.

Autofill works! I did turn off private browsing, deleted cookies, cleared history. I then did a hard reset. Went to a website and entered my login info and password Autofill then DID pop up asking to save it. I clicked yes and logged out, refreshed and went back to the same site. Hit auto fill. Works, THEN tried to add my comment here, no go cause I'm on my iPhone. Downloaded Mercury Browser app which recognizes the ios5 iPhone as a desktop and now adding this comment. Happy!!!
