i have a dual xgps150, i pad bluetooth can't find it, but my son's i pad will?

xgps150 blue light slowly blinking, bluetooth on ipad the wheel is going around in searching window, cannot find thd the xgps. Tried on my son's ipad 2 and it connects within a couple of seconds we both have the 5.0.1 version o/s. is there something I'm doing or is the prob with the pad?
