HOW TO ASSIGN A SONG AS A RINGTONE ON IPHONE 4S

It has driven me to distraction that I didn't know how to assign songs on my Iphone 4S as ringtones.


Searching the net hasn't been easy and the YouTube videos are not easy to follow. After about an hour of guesswork, I've finally been successful. Please let me know if you find my instructions easy to follow (this may only be applicable to UK)


HOW TO ASSIGN A SONG AS A RINGTONE ON IPHONE 4S

  • Download the Ringtones app on your phone
  • Click Use Ipod library
  • Using the slider record song for 30 seconds max
  • Click the save icon
  • Syn the iphone to itunes
  • Go to Apps
  • Scroll to bottom under File Sharing
  • Click Ringtones to bring up list of songs
  • Highlight selected songs
  • Click Save To desk top
  • Click Tones in Itunes down left hand side
  • Go into desktop and drag selected songs into Tones in Itunes
  • Sync phone again with Itunes
  • On Iphone go to Settings
  • Sounds
  • Ringtones
  • Click on selected song which will now be your ringtone

NB make sure in Itunes on your computer that the tones option is clicked by clicking Edit, Preferences,

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1
