Would be helpful to know exactly what model MBP you have, but essentially the "Service Battery" indicator is just a polite way of saying its time to buy a new battery.

With that charge capacity, it is normal to have such a poor battery life. You have to visit an Apple Store and probably replace your battery.

Low cycle count is meaningless if you don't use your battery regularly. How old is your machine? Internal or removable battery?

Turn it over. If there is a battery compartment, its removable. If its solid, the battery is built in.
I suspect you have a non unibody 15" model. Your battery has lasted its expected life span unfortunately.
When your battery was new it had a capacity of about 5000mAh. Now it is about 1800 mAh. That explains it.
