How to disable the camera on MacBook Air?

I have a logitech 310 webcam... I have all the drivers for my Mac and it seems to work OK on it.

However... the inbuilt camera always seems to take precedence in chatrooms etc and I can't see how to select a preference between the two.

On my PC it was quite easy to tell it which cam you want it to use and I would hate to think they have an edge over my beautiful Mac... please help. Surely there must be a simple elegant solution? Here's hoping...

Thanks for taking time to answer my query! May I ask which 'preferences' in which menu bar you are referring to? If it is the preferences in the finder program then I can't see an 'audio/visual tab... am I missing something?

Been a few years since I have used a Mac... trying to remember what to do LOL.

I have also looked in system preferences and cant see an audio/visual tab there either... perhaps I am missing a bit of software... or perhaps I am just being daft!

Thanks again
