My GMail stopped working for no apparent reason. I get "imap.gmail.com username or password is incorrect. Any silver bullets?
Have you deleted and re-added the account from Mail settings? Settings > Mail Contacts and Calendars > (account name) > Delete account.

Yes. Its the most frustrating thing. I am afraid at this point I'm going to have to just restore my phone. What a pain...
Disable "two-step veification in your account settings in your gmail account. Have to login through the web and then go to account settings.
I, too, often have struggles with Gmail, yet usually find Gmail being the culprit rather than the iPhone. Before you restore, try kohnda's advice.
Did it work out in the end? My iPhone stopped picking up emails too, but only from one of my gmail accounts, the other ones are working as they should, furthermore I can send emails from the account - and I can log on via Safari and also pick up mails from that account from other devices, not just from my main device. Very frustrating - especially as it just happened out of the blue.
And yes, I have restarted and so forth.
