Reset a 24" Cinema Display? I have a 2009 24" LED Cinema display. All of a sudden, it has gone blank, even though it still charges my MacBook Pro and Audio is passed through via the USP connector? Any help would be appreciated

Have the exact same problem with a 23" display.

Same issue for me. I came back from vacation, tried to plug my 15" MBP into my 24" cinema display and the screen is blank. Sounds are coming through the monitor and the USB works, but no image.

Ok, but this is for thunderbolt Macs when flickering, mine problem are the screen are blank.

Flickering means that the screen goes blank every now and then, so please try the solution.

For me the problem is completely gone 🙂

i have the same problem but i have 24-inch led cinema display not 27 and i cant find EDID reset tool for cinema display 24-inch.. do you know if there is? Thank you!

I don't think it's a cable issue for everyone. It happened to me on multiple monitors :S

Just letting you all know what happened for me with this problem. I had exactly the same symptoms, USB and magsafe power worked, sound was coming out from the Cinema Display speakers, but there was no picture. I tried mirroring and other displays changes, but still no go.

I read the troubleshooting guides, and one of the suggestions was to reset the power manager on your computer, so I tried that. For a MacBook Pro what you do is shut down, then hold Control-Shift-Option-Power Button for a few seconds, and let. After that you power on as usual.

Those steps completely fixed the issue with the monitor.

Resetting SMC solved this problem for me.

However, I must repeat the reset process every once in a while. Any suggestions for a permanent solution?
