i am trying to mount at start-up an ftp volume but i can't find the fstab in /etc/ (as Linux).
Anyone can help me?
How can i manage the "auto-mount volumes" in Mac OS whitout the fstab file?
I tried to find an answer on google but nothing helps me...

man fstab in the Terminal provides the details.
I do believe OS X uses automount (and automountd) to handle this.
You will want to look at the man pages for automount(8), auto_master(5) and autofs.conf(5). If I remember the files correctly, auto_master controls the automount mappings, and autofs.conf is the config file for automount and automountd.
I don't remember if fstab exists by default. If it doesn't, just create it.
You can also use the AufoFS files if you want a more Mac-pure interface.
Be aware that the FTP filesystem driver has always been read only. If you need to write, you will need to install MacFUSE's FTP filesystem.
That's a good point; I'd forgotten that.
If the OP does choose to go that route, I'd say he might as well go all out and install MacFusion2.
