How can i stop finder from requiring a password to delte files or copy files?

Macbook pro 17 2.8 ghz late 2009, Mac OS X (10.6.3)

Unless you are the owner of the file, you will not have permission to copy or delete, unless the owner has granted these permissions.


Otherwise, highlight your hard disk (Macintosh HD be default) and press command-I.


This will open up the file info dialgue box, At the bottom is an arrow with Ownership and permissions next to it.


Where it says You can, their is a drop-down menu. Set this to 'Read and Write" and it should solve your problem.
