The iPad doesn't have a USB connection so you can't plug it into the iPad
but I can a USB connection with the camera connection, can't I?
Only a small amount of power is provided to the iPad's dock, so it probably won't provide enough power to your card (most third-party memory card readers don't work with the kit it as they need too much power) - and unless the card transmits wirelessly it won't be detected as a network either.
hmmm, so it "is" a wireless aircard.... anywhere I can find spec on available power through that connection?
I've never seen any official documentation about, but it was reduced in iOS 4.2 and at the time a number of people said that it went from something like 100mA to about 20mA - whether those figures were, and still are, accurate I don't know.
I have a Verizon USB modem for my Internet and I use a router that my modem plugs into for wireless. It works for my iPod and iPad. It's a Cradlepoint Travel Router. I'm sure they have a model to meet your needs.
Thank You!!
For the price of the cradlepoint you might as well just get a Verizon 4G MiFi.
