I downloaded the iCloud onto my Mac Version 10.6.8 and the iCloud syncs with my iPhone, but I cannot seem to get it to sync with my iCal. Although a lot of items did sync with iCloud from my iCal, it stopped halfway through and now does not sync. Also, is the sync supposed to happen both ways from iCloud to iCal as well as iCal to iCloud?

Anyone assistance would be appreciated! Many thanks in advance!

Deb

    Deb...

You need to upgrade to Lion.

iCloud for your Mac requires Mac OS X Lion v10.7.2

Read here >  Apple - iCloud - Learn how to set up iCloud on all your devices

You can download and install Lion from the App Store but make sure your Mac meets Lion's requirements first.

    • Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    • 2GB of memory
    • OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    • 7GB of available space

I was looking for the same thing.  I read where you canmake a CalDev account and point the server to iCloud.  I just can't find the link!  So, yes you can do it without Lion.  I know that Lion is not ready for me, and Im not ready for Lion.  Apple can't even get the wi-fi in snow leoprad upgraded systems to work, but thats another thread.

OK, anyone know the server address to iCloud/calendar?

    Deb,

I am right you can do this and here is a link:

However, you need a .me mail account.  You will have one either from subscribing to mobile.me or you can "activate" a new .me mail account in iCloud via Lion.  Another way that Apple has been focing customers to adopt their new OS when it's new $30 OS doesn't work with the $1000's of dollars in software a lot of us have.

In short, no .me account, no Lion, no syncing with the cloud.  But, wait!  What if I got a trial .me account, set up the .me address and followed the instructions on the above link?  It might work.  I don't need anything but my caldars to sync up anyhow.  Good luck!
