Macbook pro battery not charging

my mac is no that old 1 1/2 years i used part of the battery after that when i plugged it in the light on the plug stayed at a dull green not a orange or bright green the battery isnt charging this has happend before usally i leave it over night off and its charged by morning system profiler says
