How do I print selected text in Safari?

Seems like this should be simple . . . but I can't figure it out. How do I print just a portion of a webpage in Safari?

Darien &,

There is a kludge procedure that you can use.

Select the desired text, then go to Safari>Services>Text Edit>New Window Containing Selection and Text Edit will open (behind Safari) with the desired text. You can then print the selection using Text Edit.

Darien &,

I used kludge in this context: "In modern computing terminology, a kludge is a method of solving a problem, doing a task, or fixing a system (whether hardware or software) that is inefficient, inelegant, or even unfathomable, but which nevertheless works.

In my opinion, it would be more elegant if "Print Selection" was available in Safari without going through another program.

Does anyone know WHY this feature doesn't exist in Safari? It's something people use every day. My parents just switched over to a Mac, and find things like this way to print only selected text to be very convoluted and confusing.

There are tons of threads online about this topic, both on Apple forums and elsewhere, and I am sure other people than myself have added it as a feature request. Why not just implement it?
