I want to purchase a webcam for use with my 12" G4 iBook, model A1026. This computer is 1.33 MHz, with 1.25 GB RAM, running OS 10.5.8. Will it be possible to video chat on a computer this old? If so, please suggest a camera that will be compatible with this machine. I don't want to spend a lot of money. Thanks!
I have read that a Macally ICECAM2 will work with an iBook G4.

I have the IceCam2 and it works perfectly on my iBook G4. When you plug it in and open Skype, you'll see that it works automatically.
The website states that it doesn't work with PowerBook G4, etc, but they are referring to the fact that you must have USB 2.0 for it to function properly. The early PowerBook G4's did not come with USB 2.0, only 1.0.

I don't mean to revive an old thread, but can you show proof that Macally's tech knowledge about their product not working on a G4 is FALSE? Provide a pic showing that it does work.
I wonder why Macally didn't take into consideration that G4's with USB 1.1 are not compatible, but 2.0 are.
