no Apple Software Update in my programs, anyone know how i can find it to download?

in the list of programs where itunes was until i was advised to remove everything pertaining to itunes to reinstall it.
now when i reinstall itunes, i get the error "Apple Aplication Support not found" and to uninstall and reinstall itunes.
I have done this dozens of time and get the same results each time. thought if i could get Apple Software Update back I could find Apple Application Support.
