My iPhone 3G will not ring when called; keypad & lock sounds also do not work. Other sounds work fine. I've tried all SETTINGS, on-off, a reset --no success. It will vibrate when called, if the VIBRATE setting is selected in SETTINGS. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you.
Is the device on mute? Look at the silent switch on the side above the volume controls, do you see a red dot? If so, it's on mute.
By golly. It was that little switch. iPhone's been in a case for years. I never noticed that button. Apple pobably should mention that button in the user manual "trouble-shooting" section. Thanks all.
