I'm trying to use multitrack recording, one track being a line in guitar and the other a USB microphone, however when I plug in the mike it doesn't allow me to select "line in" for the input for the guitar, the only option it gives me for both tracks is the USB mike.

you need to create an aggregate device for the line-IN, and USB mic:

This works, and now I can record both devices at the same time. However, now both lines are on the same track, and I can't apply an effect to one without it affecting the other. Is this possible? Thanks.
