how do I calibrate the touchscreen keyboard?

I would like to calibrate the keyboatd touchscreen on my 4S to match how I place my fingers. I was able to do that on my Droid, is this an option on the Iphone?

iPhone 4S, iOS 5.0.1

you can swipe to make the keyboard on an iPad move to the corners of the screen. Isn't that some form of calibrating the keyboard? Apple put that feature in to make it easier for us iPad users to type.

I don't think that's what he means. There is no way to calibrate. I've never had an issue. Where I touch on the keyboard is the letter that shows.

I too wish the iPad offered SOME solution, anything, to solve this.

When I'm holding it on my lap (which is 90% of my use) I often miss the spacebar and type b, n or m instead. Itnmakesnmeblook stupid, and since there are no blinkin' cursor keys, it's a royal pain to fix.

Now I've got it on a table so that isn't happening in this session.

Maybe the 2014 iPad will earn another $600 :-) by adding this feature.

I'm slowly moving to APL products and the lack of this surprises me, given the company's well deserved reputation for usability. My wife has the same problem and it's hard to imagine we're the only ones. I mean, for me this is a MAJOR impediment in the product's usefulness. (I bought an external keyboard, which I like, but I often don't want the extra weight and Bluetooth battery burden.)

Actually instead of calibration software all it would take is a software switch to activate a wider gutter between the bottom row and the "bnm" row, eh?

There's only one way to calibrate an iPhone's touchscreen and that's done automatically like this:

Hold the Home button and the Power (sleep/wake) button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo comes up. This is called a hard reset, and should take care of any small issues.

If you're still having problems, you'll have to click on "Restore settings" within iTunes.
