iPad 2 Won't Sync Ratings

I have an iPad 2, have done since September, but today I've just noticed it won't sync the song ratings that I add on my iPad 2, and transfer them onto iTunes. The rating simply disappears. However, if I change the ratings within iTunes and then sync, the rating gets transferred onto my iPad 2.

I've searched the community and everyone keeps saying to autosync. But it doesn't make a difference to me. It still doesn't transfer ratings from iPad 2 to iTunes.

Does anyone know a fix for my problem?
