While there is no longer support for XP and visa there are ways to overcome this.

You must have a Mac that can boot with mac OSX 10.6.x. as those that shipped with Lion won't work.

1. The first step is to make a bootable clone of your existing mac OSX 10.7.x. on an external HDD and also create a Lion install DVD or USB flash drive.

2. Reformat the Mac HDD with one partition Mac OS Extended (Journaled), GUID Partition Table.

3. Install 10.6.x and then Boot Camp with Win XP/Vista and Boot Camp 3.2 update.

4. Boot from the Mac10.7 Clone created in the first step and clone it back to the Mac replacing the 10.6.x install.

5. You will now have Mac 10.7.x Lion just like it was originally with Boot Camp Win XP/Vista.

You will not have the Lion recovery partition on the Mac now but the Lion install DVD/USB flash serves as a

recovery/reinstallation environment the same as the $69 Apple thumb drive installer. No internet connection is necessary and when you boot from this drive or DVD, you’ll see the same Mac OS X Utilities screen you get when you boot into restore mode.

Finally a caveat. FileVault or features like disk encryption and Apple's Find My Mac service will not work properly without the Recovery HD partition.
