I saw someone else posted about Numbers not working back in June, but no one had an answer for them, so I'm hoping someone sees this.
I downloaded Lion a few months ago, but haven't used Pages with it until now.
I tried opening a couple of files in it (.docx and .pages), but the dock icon acts like it's booting up (bounces around) and then quits.
Any ideas?

We need to ascertain whether the problem is with Pages itself or with the Dock Icon. Have you tried opening it directly from Applications, or type Pages into Spotlight and click on Pages which should come up as the top hit.
Now don't tell us what version of Pages you are talking about.
Let us guess!

First things first, re-install Pages. I'm presuming it was on your system before Lion and that you simply upgraded from SL to Lion as most of us did.
May you open your eyes before posting.

(a) upgrading to Lion doesn't remove Pages. So normally there is no need to re-install Pages
(b) as the OP prove to be unable to say exactly what he installed it's difficult to help him.
I listed the Pages '09 versions numbers but knowing if he use Pages as a component of the iWork package or Pages as a single application bought to the MAS would be useful too.
If reinstalling Pages (or iWork) is required, before doing that, the first thing to do would be to uninstall completely the existing copy.
