Is there any way to make Safari open in full screen? My other apps will open in full screen (such as iTunes) but Safari only opens in windowed mode.
I've tried turning on/off "Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps", quitting safari while it's in full screen, and still no change.
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

I'm trying to find a way to have Safari launch in Full Screen mode (When I click the Safari icon I want the browser to open in full screen).
So do I.
Using applescript solved my problem:
activateapplication "Safari"
delay 2
tell application "System Events"
keystroke "f" using {control down, command down}
end tell
be sure to save it as an .app so when you double click the icon everything get taken care of right before your eyes 😀
Do you happen to know what the AppleScript is for doing the opposite? An elderly friend of mine is having problems with their system slowing down to a crawl because Safari opens in full screen.

I have this problem, and am reading your solution...have NO idea what it means! what is activate, delay, tell etc?!!!
I'm used to someone saying click this button or command, alt, delete etc!
I just tried this...when in Safari, pull the sides out to make it full screen. This is assuming that you already have enabled in your settings for Safari to open full screen.
Where do you save the Script? As in what folder? I can make the script/app I just need to know where to save it. Thanks.
