What is the exact error message you are getting?
Have your tried removing and reinstalling all the Apple Software?

No drivers for Ipod touch
I know this thread is pretty much dead, but what was the solution? I have completed all troubleshooting steps, and reinstalled Itunes. Windows and Itunes just will not see the Ipod. Apple doesn't even provide drivers for download. I'm ready to toss this piece of garbage... in the garbage!
