Describe what you consider to be "virus behavior". No known viruses exists for macs. Maybe you have malware.

And even that is extraordinarily rare. Almost all known malware is dealt with quickly by OSX...unless the OP has not done the security updates in a long while.
My hotmail account was hijacked, but I already fixed tks🙂
welcome 🙂
Can you tell me what you did to fix it? I have the same problem. I ran an online check for the flash trojan virus but it says my system doesn't have it.
My hotmail folder list looks corrupted and I can't get into my inbox.
Last few days it's been slow.
I did get an email supposedly from msn helpdesk to say they thought I had a virus in my folders and to click a link to repair but I thought THAT was a spam email itself and so deleted it. I can't find anything helpful on the Microsoft website that looks like it will repair it.
Sure I've been hacked into because I got an email from a bank today - a bank I do not use - saying they've temporarily disabled my account due to unsuccessful logins. I don't have an account with them. I've alerted them of course but desperate to fix the issue.
Any help very gratefully received!
I've got a macbook air, running OS X 10.6.8
You are not infected with any kind of malware. The messages from the MSN helpdesk and the bank are phishing scams, not evidence of malware. Everyone gets those. Delete them, they're not a problem unless you click whatever link is in the message and then provide personal information (like an account username and password).
As to what the problem is with your Hotmail account, you'd be best to start your own question rather than piggybacking on one that's almost a year old. Be sure to be specific about where you're seeing the problems... in the Mail program or in a web browser while accessing mail via the Hotmail site.
Thanks Thomas for your help and advice
