How do I sync modified photo to iPhone rather than original?

I have photo's that I have modified - in particular their rotation so that they are the correct way up for viewing. When I sync the event with my iPhone it seems that the original photo (non-rotated) is sync'd. I need for the modified (correct rotation) version to be sync'd so that the photo can be viewed properly on the iphone or conected display. Please advise.
