My itunes will not open on my laptop anymore. I tried reinstalling it and checking the compatability mode and it still will not open. I have windows 7. Please help!!

Lets see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.

Close your iTunes.

Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.

Now open itunes and see if it is working?

This works but the removal of APSDaemon has to be done everytime I want ITunes to open!

Go to. START button, type in

MSCONFIG

Hit ENTER

Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.

Restart Windows.

Config and unchecking Apple didn't make any difference. ITunes will still boot up just once but once closed it requires the computer to be rebooted again. Hope someone helps all of us on this discussion who are having this problem.

Remove SC Info.sidb file

(This applies to Win7 or Vista)

From the Start menu, click Computer.

In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.

Click the View tab.

In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected.

• Click OK.
• Navigate to the following location by either typing it into the address bar, copying and pasting it into the address bar, or clicking through the folder hierarchy listed: C:\Program Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\SC Info
• Right-click the SC Info.sidb file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.
• Right-click the SC Info.sidd file shown and on the shortcut menu, click Delete.
• Restart the computer and open iTunes.

Deleting these files and restarting ITunes was not an answer. The same problem is still occurring I'm sorry to say.

I also tried the Command Prompt netsh winsock reset and restarted but still only the one log in to ITunes after computer restarted.

Im getting the same thing, Have tried all above as well as whats on the support page. I tune opens but locks up. When I disabled Bonjour it worked but I couldn't acess the store

Having same problem in Win 7 after having downloaded newest version of iTunes.

Looks like it is CTRL-ALT-DEL --> Processes --> [del] APSDaemon.exe until there is a real fix

I repeat....This works but the removal of APSDaemon has to be done everytime I want ITunes to open!

My solution has been to system restore and use an earlier version of ITunes until there is a real fix. Hopefully soon!! Thanks

Solved it. Reboot in Safe Mode. Go to: program files (x86 in my case) --> common files --> Apple --> find APSdaemon.exe. Delete it. Reboot normally.

If you do not know how to get to safe mode, type in msconfig at the start prompt, enter; then check off safe boot..reboot....uncheck when done and reboot.

should work, it did for me.
