I saw this just recently, and it is active. But I understand it is for wirelessly syncing a device like Ipod, Ipad, Iphone. I don't have any wireless Apple gadgets; only an Ipod, that is synced w/ USB cord. So  - do I really need to keep the Daemon installed?

It's called Apple Push.  You need it for wifi sync.

you don't have to remove it but you can prevent it from Startup

Go to. START button, type in

    MSCONFIG

    Hit ENTER

Click STARTUP Tab, Uncheck "Apple Push", click OK.

    Restart Windows.

First off - thanks for your reply wiclee. I tried this, ut when I hit on msconfig I get a page that is telling me to download this program, and use it to clean my PC. Do I want to do this? Is this just another disc cleaner?

Oh dear, I think your computer is infected with Malware.

Go to Windows Safe Mode - Restart computer and hit F8 right after BIOS and choose SAFE MODE with networking.  Download Malwarebyte free version from CNET's DOWNLOAD.COM.  Install it, perform an update, then do a complete scan.  Follow instruction to remove if they do find any viruses or spywares. Then restart computer.
