Cannot access my account from within iTunes

Hello everybody,

I am not able to access my account from within iTunes on my Mac. Everytime I click on "Account" or choose it from the Store menu I am asked to enter my password. Unfortunately it doesn't proceed. After pressing Enter or clicking the corresponding button the "Enter password" menu reappears after some seconds.

The same procedure works on my Windows machine so it must be some iTunes for Mac-issue. Apple support only suggests resetting my password which I already did several times and even let them do it. Maybe it's some kind of permissions issue? Is there any file iTunes needs to have access to in order to show the accounts page?

To be clear: Logging in works, so I am able to use iTunes Match or buy stuff, it is just the account page (settings, last purchases, hidden elements, ...). The problem already exists for some weeks so it doesn't result from temporary overloads at their servers.

Can anybody help me?

I too am unable to log in to iTunes from my iMac. When I try to log in I receive the following message: "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was lost. There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."

However, my son's access from iPod is just fine. Could this be a server issue if one works and one doesn't?
