Once you have at least two tabs open then there's a plus sign on the right of the tabs that you can use to add more tabs.
Also, if you open the 'View' menu and select 'Customise Toolbar' then you have the option to add a 'New Tab' button.
Thanks. Although really needs to be a + sign even when a single tab is open. Just like IE.
on my Mac Book Pro running 10.7.3, if I have the Show Tab Bar selected, then the + sign shows when I have a single tab open.
Yeah that works. Thanks for that. Didn't realise you have to select that option after you open the first tab
if you press 'command' 'shift' 't' then you should have the option for the '+' to open a new tab even if only one tab is open on snow leopard, idk about lion. its also in 'view' 'show tab bar'
Safari DID have a + option to add a new tab, with google in the right upper corner, but with the new awful iOS, it's just another void we have to live with. I really don't like the new OS if you couldn't tell. I think Apple is going backwards toward the Windows ways. I'm glad to know about the Command T option for a new tab so thanks to the one who offered that!
Thanks, use icab as an alternative browser and it has such a button in its customisable toolbar and tried looking in the same place in Safari. Do not like keyboard commands........showing my age.
