Command + T on your keyboard opens a new tab or from the Safari menu bar click File > New Tab

Drag your mouse over the text you want to copy then press Command C

Go to the window you want to paste and press Command V

Is it just me, but all other browsers have an obvious button to add a new tab yet safari has not, why?

Once you have at least two tabs open then there's a plus sign on the right of the tabs that you can use to add more tabs.

Also, if you open the 'View' menu and select 'Customise Toolbar' then you have the option to add a 'New Tab' button.

Safari DID have a + option to add a new tab, with google in the right upper corner, but with the new awful iOS, it's just another void we have to live with. I really don't like the new OS if you couldn't tell. I think Apple is going backwards toward the Windows ways. I'm glad to know about the Command T option for a new tab so thanks to the one who offered that!
