Merry Christmas,

My Itunes completely crashed this morning. the programme will not open.

I tried to restore from Time capusle which quit half way through with an error message.

I verified permissions and corrected.

Went to repair disk and the following message came up.

This disk needs to be repaired. Start up your computer with another disk (such as your Mac OS X installation disc), and then use Disk Utility to repair this disk.

i don't have the disk. I purchased this MBP in march 2011 and then downloaded Lion from the App store.

I have tried again via the App store but it just says  "Installed" and doens't let me reinstall.

I am hoping that when I get this reinstalled I Photo will work again and/ or I can Restore from Time Capssule.

Question is how do I implement the message above.

Thanks

You have a Recovery Volume installed. Startup holding command-r

Then choose Disk Utility, choose your Volume and run Repair Disk. Run it several times until no errors are reported.

You're welcome.

Keep an eye on it... run Verify Disk from Disk Utility on your main volume from time to time.
