How to use ipod mini also when having an ipod video

Recently I have an ipod video but before that I owned a ipod mini. Since updating itunes for the ipod video the computer wont load the ipod mini or update it in the itunes. I have already updated the software in the mini, and nothing has worked. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

The problem is not with windows. Its with Itunes, I can't get itunes to download in to the ipod mini. But this is only recently since I downloaded the new program for the ipod video. Ideally I want to update both with itunes. If I look on available drives, the ipod mini is recognized but the itunes wont download to it. I currently have the most recent version of itunes as well.

So the mini is recognized in iTunes when you connect it, correct?

How are you attempting to transfer music to it, automatically or manually, and describe what happens when you do, including any error messages?

Actually the mini is not recognized by itunes. Ever since I downloaded the 6.0.2 version of itunes. The mini is not updateable.

Have you looked at any of these?

iPod appears in Windows Explorer but does not appear in iTunes.

iPod does not appear in iTunes.

Fast user switching in Windows XP is not supported.

Strange iPod behavior.

Why does it have to be updated? If it plays songs what else does your mini need?

It needs to be able to put more songs on it.
He wants to update it with more songs and it won't update in iTunes when he connects it.

Yeah I can't update the songs on the mini anymore. How can I update the songs on the mini and the ipod video as well using the same itunes program.

I called the apple store in brea mall, ca. No help there, they left me without any help. I called the support to call and it was something real simple. Just reset the ipod. What I figure is that with the new itunes setup it didnt recognize because it was set on the old itunes setup. So it needed to be reset. thanks anyways guys

I love how the forum nags u, I guess ipod is easy and these people are friendly. I'm glad I don't buy ipod for the customer service and the friendly forum, and dont forget the impossible to email. Funny how u cant email them.
