Phone number requires an area code

Hi,

I recntly made a purchase and was required to enter a area code into a field prior to the phone number. i only have a mobile and so i tried +61 being the country code, this was not accepted. any advice on what i should do? i have entered a zero in the area code then my mobile number in the phone number field that seems to have worked....
