the iphone 4 was released in june of 2010 and the verizon version was released very early 2011. the timeframe has nothing to do with it, it is the hardware inside the phone, along with whether or not apple decides to do it or not for a marketing strategy.

and by the way no one on here is an apple employee we are apple customers just like you so i think i speak for everyone when i say were not going to replace your phone.

Siri is not an app. It's integrated into the phone with the OS. The 4S uses sensors to launch Siri for example by raising the phone to your ear. I'm not sure if the 4 has this or if it's different from the screen shutoff sensor when you make a phone call. Either way it will not be on the iPhone 4 and most likely not on iPad 2 either and definitely not on iPod Touch. iPod touch is a music player and it's users don't need Siri. Anyone who would need Siri to make appointments and other things would most likely have an iPhone 4S already or have the money to buy one. Since the iPod touch is more for teens and less for professionals, it doesn't need Siri since they would only use it to show off or play with it instead of using it for productivity like a busy businessman/professional would.

The iPhone 4 can most definitely handle Siri. Actually as others have noted the company that developed the App had it fully functional on the iPhone 4 and previous versions. It stopped working the day that Apple pulled the plug on those of us that are smart enough not to buy the over hyped iPhone 4 + Siri. I'm glad I didn't give in to the hype because my friends with the 4S are definitely not enjoying the Siri (or lack of) experience.

Yes there are differences in the original Siri and what Apple has made it into. It used to work and was available on all devices. Not so much the case anymore.
