Printing blank pages from Safari and Firefox

We've been having printer problems for awhile now. The mini prints 2 blank pages whenever you print from Safari or Firefox. HP OfficeJet 6110 all-in-one. I am able to print to the same printer from my powerbook.

I have re-installed all the drivers from HP, completely deleting the printer, loading the new drivers, and then reinstalling the printer.

Please help. My wife wants to go back to Windows!

I found this suggestion and this link ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00605836&produc t=79477&dlc=en〈=en ) on another topic right here in the Discussions- so far it works for me (after only one try, but it's the first thing I've been able to print from Safari in months). In Safari page setup, select "A4" as your paper size. Don't you hate it when something so simple solves such a big problem?

Dammit- I was trying to post this to a different thread, and now I can't delete it!

No offence to the other poster, but I am always
amazed when people's first response to a serious
problem is: use another software or worse, re-install
the OS. That is the worst advice ever, again, no
offence to the other poster

I agree 100 per cent! Nothing is ever learned from re-installing the OS as soon as a problem arises! If everyone did this everytime they had a problem there would never be any solutions found/available for problems.

I have struggled with Safari and printing blank pages using an HP psc2110 all-in-one printer off and on, sometimes it works and other times not. I've upgraded to the latest HP drivers with the same results. I stumbled on the solution that seems to have resolved my problem. Under the print dialog box, use the pull down box that defaults to Copies & Pages and select Safari. There you will find two check boxes, one for headers and one for background. DEPENDING ON THE WEBPAGE you're trying to print, you need to select some combination of the two (or perhaps none of them) that gives you a complete page. I found it to be a trial and error process--the incorrect choice will give either a blank or incomplete page. That would explain the erratic behavior of the past. If you don't see the Safari choice, you may need to update the HP drivers.

As an aside, if you share the printer, you need to update the drivers on those client machines too or you may not see the shared printer at all.
